Hey there!! Another goofy idea I have to enjoy happiness…do you really want that??
Step One – Drop your Burdens
We tend to obsess over everything we have on our calendar to do, the house needs cleaned, the laundry needs done, homework, dinner – lunch – breakfast, errands, oh yea work needs to be wedged in there somewhere – at least eight hours of that! Eight hours of work – travel to and from – errands on the way to and from work – homework, cooking, cleaning, car maintenance, family gatherings – oh year birthday celebrations, holidays – I know I am leaving at least three or four dozen things out!
Drop the Burdens and Find Happiness
DROP THE BURDENS – (my husband hates when I say this) – but the Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow even if you don’t get ALL of these tasks done. In fact, if you challenge yourself to let some of the burdens go (the ones that can actually wait til tomorrow) you will experience more happiness.The sun WILL come out tomorrow if you don't get everything done. Now I do promise that your brain will kick into overdrive when it discovers that you are intentionally ignoring some of the things that you usually obsess over – because part of what the brain does so beautifully for us is the ability to be in constant obsession over what we can do better, say better, accomplish in a more pristine way than we have in the past – but WHY?
Is this really what you desire as your purpose in life?
Step Two- Progress – Live Your Dash
You have all probably heard the story of ‘the dash’ – I will briefly paraphrase – it is such a beautiful analogy of what life is really about. So when you die, traditionally your birth year and year of death are listed and between the two years is a dash (1909 – 1999). What really tells the story of your life is what you did in the dash. Start today, this moment, to make your dash stand for the beauty you see in life. If there does not seem to be any beauty – FIND IT! If you need help finding it – CALL ME! I am not kidding – there is good everywhere – in everything – drop your burdens – be stronger, braver, more loving – start TODAY!
